Deportation Budget Blues

Deportation Costs Money

**ONLY READ THIS IF YOU ARE WILLING TO DO THE MATH**

Nov. 22, 2011 was an important point in this Republican Primary season. Gov. Rick Perry and now Speaker Newt Gingrich are embracing the;

JoeSixPack.Biz Immigration Solution.

Without doubt the attempt to forcibly move 12 million PEOPLE out of America would drive our country into absolute and utter CHAOS. If you think the economy is bad now this would be the straw that breaks our back. The stock market had the worse Thanksgiving week since 1932. Occupy Wall Street proves that a small group can drive the authorities bat squat. University of California-Davis couldn’t move a dozen kids protesting tuition increases off the sidewalk without resorting to pepper spraying them in their non-violent civil disobedient faces.

DO THE MATH. What would it cost to move 1000 PEOPLE from Detroit to Nuevo Laredo. We can’t move out 12 million PEOPLE without knowing the costs.

How is putting these PEOPLE in detention pens different than interment camps? Count on the lawsuits? Who is willing give up the American Dream? How many guards, cooks, medics and PR flacks? How much food, water, electricity, tents, beds, blankets and medical supplies?  DO THE MATH.

In the best of times can we afford to deport these undocumented PEOPLE? What happens when Mexico says no way Jose, this plan Es Muy Stupido.  They know that this first group of 1000 is the tip of a 12 million strong iceberg. International outrage is building.

How do you FORCIBLY repatriate PEOPLE? Busing? Because that worked so well before. Instead of Nuevo Laredo we head to the shipping port of Houston where we will put these PEOPLE on a big boat.  Buses, gas, housing, security, food and hundreds of government paid employees working 24 hours a day to move the deportees.

The deportation buses will be traveling on US highways. The media has been covering the move non-stop. Helicopters transmit the images of the buses rolling 24 hours a day on cable networks. Protesters appear and have the buses blocked by linking arms. College students, children, house wives, priests and politicians from all over America have arrived by the thousands and have stopped their cars on the highway. Hand made signs compete with American flags and banners.  Pro deportation supporters taunting the crowds by buring Mexico’s flag and Ultra nationalists dressed in camouflage are being held back by local law enforcement authorities. Rock throwing breaks out.  Chaos for those in charge of public safety.

DO THE MATH.

The National Guard was called out along the route. DO THE MATH. Extra dockage charges, diesel fuel, ship personnel, insurance, overtime.  How much so far? Do not make like a congressman and just pull a number out of your short pants.

All 1000 are onboard the boat. Now what?  The harbor may be clogged with sail boats but little boats get out of the way of big boats so the USS Adios gets underway. Mexico has said it will not allow the boat to dock. So get within 25 yards of  Mexican territorial waters , give them each an inner tube and tell them to jump. Does Mexico have a Navy to pick them up?  The good news is since these are mostly brown PEOPLE you will not need to calculate the costs of sunblock.

So exactly what is the cost to forcibly remove 1000 undocumented PEOPLE from America?  In my opinion the cost is America’s very soul.  Secure the borders we must. Back when we didn’t we knew we were allowing undocumented people in. It was wink, wink, nod, nod. As a nation we chose to look the other way.  Politicians have left the issue unresolved. It’s time to stop scapegoating the PEOPLE who are here and start developing a plan that embraces reality and provides for a greater nation.

We need to create a path to citizenship or legal residency through national service, taxation. Get them into our Armed Forces and make every one of them get a tattoo of the Statue of Liberty. The model for the statue was a French woman by the way. Has anyone checked her papers?

That’s my view JoeSixPack.Biz
