The New Miss California

Call me a purist or just clueless but one question I have about the Miss USA Contest is why would a gay man, a celebrity blogger known for "outing" reluctant gay celebrities be a judge of a female beauty pageant?

A judge who was a lesbian would make more sense to me for certain. Of course we are talking about a contest that has seen it's share of our attention fall from the top of our mind down to around our ankles. When was the last time you even thought about this contest?

The smart Media Manipulators behind the scene had to know Perez was going to ask the GAY MARRIAGE question of Miss California. It had to be planned. If I could check Perez's bank account I bet I would find a nice lump sum there that the other judges didn't get. He certainly went from a very little known nobody to a very well known nobody.

His question made this year's contest. It is over for several weeks and still in the news. Oh by the way who won? I guess that answers my opening question doesn't it?
